FAQs

Why is it called DeeJayMasterMind.com?

Because when I went to register the domain name, someone else is already using DJMasterMind.  It is simply a means to say the same thing, but everywhere else it is simply referred to as DJMM.

Who joins DJMM?

Disc Jockeys, Karaoke Jockeys and Master of Ceremonies who want to create an extraordinary year in business join a mastermind group.  Plus, you join a group when you want to have your own personal board of directors, a group of trusted and respected business colleagues who can brainstorm with you, challenge you and hold you accountable so that you move forward and grow quickly.

What benefits will I get by joining DJMM?

  • Increase your own confidence and your experience
  • Sharpen your communication, business and personal skills
  • Create real progress and momentum in your business
  • Add an instant and valuable support network
  • Get honest advice, feedback and brainstorming
  • Learn from and build upon the skills and experiences of other members
  • Create action plans and having the group hold you accountable to those goals
  • Receive critical insight to yourself as only a trusted colleague can give
  • Work ON your business instead of just in it; make the transition from owning a job to being a true business owner.
  • Gaining a sense of shared endeavor; you are NOT alone!

Who is not a good fit for DJMM?

Anyone can benefit greatly from a mastermind group, however DJMM may not be for you if…

  • You always prefer to work alone
  • You are not serious about improving yourself and your business
  • You are not willing to participate by asking for help as well as giving it
  • You cannot commit to the phone call meeting schedule every other week

Who runs the groups?

Currently each group is facilitated by DJMM founder, Charles E. Snyder III who will oversee the structure and timing of the meetings.

How often are the meetings?

Meetings are by phone every other week and usually only 60 to 90 minutes in length depending on the size of the group.

Are meetings over the phone effective?

YES!  I have belonged to both phone-based groups as well as in-person and I can tell you from personal experience that the phone-based meetings are convenient, timely, cohesive and very powerful.  In other words they are every bit as effective as in-person groups, but without the travel, time and expense associated with them!

What happens in the phone call groups?

There is no artificial schedule or preset topics imposed upon the group.  You bring whatever challenges you are facing, decisions you need to make, ideas you want feedback on or just brainstorming.  You bring what is most important to you at this time and you get out of it what you put into it.

The only set schedule is during the once per month training calls where a guest speaker presents a seminar or discussion group centered on a few topics of interest.

When do the DJMM groups meet?

Each group makes that decision based upon the answers provided on the application and agreed upon by the mutal consent of the majority of each group.

What if I have questions or want to connect before the next scheduled meeting?

Not a problem!  Each group is assigned their own private online message forum where you can continue detailed discussions or even posting new ideas or questions with your mastermind group.

What topics can I bring up on the call?

Anything that is business or self-development related such as marketing questions, specific marketing techniques, advertising questions, writing effective advertising copy, website reviews, search engine optimization, dealing with difficult clients/employees/colleagues, creating passive income, dealing with frustration and time constraints, creating a new or bigger vision for your business, finding joint-venture partners, technical issues, figuring out where you are shooting yourself in the foot by sabotaging your business, logo development, getting motivation and just breaking out of being stuck in a rut.  Anything that comes up, we are here to help.

How many people are in each DJMM group?

Groups are limited to 4 to 6 members each.

Why so few – I’ve seen groups advertised with as many as 20 people?

In a true mastermind setting, each member of the group is given equal time to pose questions and receive feedback from the other members of the group.  Large groups do not allow everyone to participate at this level as well as restricting the time to feedback.  Additionally, large groups do not allow you to get to really know everyone else in the group or for them to get to know you.

What will my time commitment be to participate in the DJMM group?

Phone meetings are mandatory.  Sessions are held every other week and are typically about 60 to 90 minutes in length.  Once you are accepted into a mastermind group, open up your calendar and mark those days so you do not forget them or accidentally schedule something during those times.

In addition to the mandatory phone calls, you are also strongly encouraged to participate with the online private group forums.  This tool is a powerful way to stay in touch with your group with your challenges, triumph and new ideas throughout the time between scheduled sessions.

Are the DJMM groups like networking or referrals groups?

Learning and growing together is the main focus of our groups.  While we are also networking to a degree and referrals are quite possible, the intent is to encourage, support and give/get advice.  DJMM is much more like a Think Tank or DJ Idea Sharing session, only you have access to it twice per month, all year long.

Are the DJMM groups like a class?

While you will certainly learn a lot about yourself and your business, the mastermind groups are not like a class at all.  There is no predefined curriculum or set schedule of topics – the members of the group decide what is on the agenda.  You decide what is most important to talk about based on what is going on in your business at that particular time.

Are the DJMM groups like group coaching?

No.  The DJMM groups are about forging long-term relationships, sharing ideas, brainstorming and finding solutions to problems.  In group coaching, advice is rarely given.  However in DJMM groups, advice is freely given and is a major reason why people join up.

Are the DJMM groups for newbie DJs?

Groups will be divided based upon experience.  The reason for this is that relatively inexperienced DJs tend to have more nuts-n-bolts technical types of questions for getting started.  On the other hand, the more experienced DJs often have established systems in place and have done some marketing, advertising and sales; their questions tend to be more about performance, what’s next and how do I take my business to the next level.

What if I do not like my DJMM group?

The first meeting is a free trial and if after the first meeting you do not agree that you are getting an excellent tool for building your business, you may drop out with a full refund.  After that, you must commit to one full year.

There is no need to worry about “problem members” either.  A professional facilitator will help the group to work together.  If there are problems, it will be taken care of quickly.  The spirit of the DJMM groups is to work in harmony and shared endeavor within a positive learning atmosphere.

Can I get “fired” from a group?

If you do not abide by the guidelines for proper conduct or you miss more than two phone meetings in any three-month period, you will be removed from the group and your money will not be refunded.  We are looking for people who are seriously willing to commit themselves to the other DJMM group members who are seriously committed to helping you and receiving your help.

Is everyone in the group really a mastermind?

No, they are DJs and business owners just like you.  Some have a considerable amount of experience, others are incredibly creative, others are very analytical and detail oriented.  This mix of experience and skill sets creates a rich environment for growing your business no matter what hurdles you may face.

How private are the phone meetings and forums?

Each member is required to sign a non-disclosure agreement so you can be assured that your conversations will remain private.  Any member found breaching this agreement and disclosing private DJMM discussions will be permanently banned.

How much does it cost?

The total for membership is $19.95 per month or $199 per year.  If you pay for the entire year up front, you save money!

Can I also purchase some one-on-one coaching from Charles?

Yes, you can purchase private coaching/consulting time with me.  Please use the Contact Form to schedule a free coaching session today.

Great!  How do I get started?
